Reviews

Lovely comfortable cottage on a quiet road but still within easy walking distance to the centre of the village.

Mrs O,

Lovely house. We've stayed here twice now and enjoyed it very much. This time, the weather was extremely cold with lots of snow, but the house was lovely and warm. I really like the valves on the radiators upstairs so that we could boost the heating-great idea.

Mrs G,

The converted church has been undertaken very sympathetically with a great use of space. A well equipped property that was very comfortable and ideally located for a short walk into Buxton.

Mr D,

Chapel Retreat was a tastefully decorated and spacious house, which was perfect for our extended family break. There was plenty of space downstairs, including a little snug area for the kids. There was a large dining table that sat everyone, and a comfy sofa area. Upstairs the bedrooms were decent, 2 a little on the small side, but the triple decker bunk was hilarious and such fun for the kids, and the day bed and under bed worked really well and was easy to get out and stash away. The other 2 were good size, and both the bathroom and en-suite were both lovely. The location near the Pavillion Gardens in Buxton was fantastic, it was moments away from a Sainsbury’s and easy to find and easy to get parking on the street.

Mrs B,

Lovely large property for a big group, best location in Buxton, plenty of off road parking. We will definitely be back, thank you.

Miss I,

A very comfortable property in a very central location. Buxton is a delightful town with plenty of nice walks.

Mr F,

Excellent, spacious accommodation, within easy reach of all Buxton has to offer (10 minutes walk to the main shops). Nice & warm, plenty of good quality towels/linen/loo roll etc. The snug was perfect for my son to play on his computer, or watch TV by himself without disturbing others. Good shower in en-suite, nice, deep bath. Several games & puzzles. Proper smart TVs. Reliable WiFi. Dedicated parking space. Recommend the Pig & Pepper bakery round the corner - and Scriveners Book shop, of course!

Mrs T,

Beautiful conversion in a great location in Buxton, so close to the park for the kids each day but also lots to see and do nearby. We all had a great holiday!

Ms S,

Nice conversion of an old chapel in a fantastic location close to the pleasure gardens and easy walking into the very pleasant town of Buxton.

Mr W,

it was cold in the house even though it was warm outside and we understand it is an old stone building but it wasn't possible to easily find instructions re the heating. Minor point very lovely property in a good location

Mrs A,

Just missing some basics like salt, oil and pepper. Potentially some soap dispensers in the bathroom would also be appreciated. Bar that all good!

Mr W,

The characterful and freshly furnished property occupies a fantastic location , close to the town centre and as well as the 1 car driveway has available space on the road close by. The living space is generous and comfortable to spend quality time with your group. Each of the bedrooms have comfortable beds and bed linen and ensuite and main bathroom have good showers. The kitchen has all of the equipment to make for a truly care free stay.

Mr K,

A beautiful cottage in an excellent location. Lovely decor, everything we needed for a break away with friends. We'd definitely go back.

Dr J,

Lovely, convenient location. Clean, well equipped, comfortable house and beds. Lovely and warm when it needed to be. Really loved the stay and the apartment was very cosy and comfy. Loved the space and décor within each room. The chapel is ideally located centrally with easy access into Buxton.
