Reviews

We loved our stay at Cherry Tree cottage, it is centrally located in Buxton so easy to walk into the town. It is a tight parking space but on street parking is possible for bigger cars. For trips out without using a car the bus stop is very close for Bakewell etc. The cottage was warm and cosy and well equipped overall a lovely place to stay when exploring the Peak District.

Mrs R,

This cottage is very well presented with efficient heating and much better equipped than many cottages we have rented. Although on a residential street there was very little noise or traffic to disturb our peace. We managed several walks straight from the cottage and it was handy to have everything we needed within a few minutes walking distance- shops, restaurants, take aways, train station. Not much outside space but we were there during the winter so this wasn't an issue.

Mrs R,

The cottage was very cosy - warm, comfortable and very clean! The location was ideal, being close to the centre of Buxton, whilst allowing us to go on walks out into the peak district. We really enjoyed our time at the cottage, and would recommend staying!

Mr M,

Cosy cottage very well located with good pubs & restaurants nearby. Well appointed cottage with lovely decor. Welcome goodies much appreciated and owners very responsive.

Mrs N,

Very well located for all facilities. Well equipped and comfortable. Lack of headroom over the bath is an issue.

Location

Buxton

Elegant, historic Buxton has been welcoming visitors to enjoy its natural thermal springs and superb setting, 300 metres above sea level, since Roman times and is the highest Market Town in England!

Known then as Aquae Arnemetiae, or the Spa of the Goddess of the Grove, its fortunes are currently reviving thanks to the restoration of its Grade 1 Listed centrepiece, The Crescent, as a five-star hotel and spa. Now open, the town’s famous thermal water, which rises from the earth at a constant temperature of 28 degrees C (82 degrees F), will be used again for spa treatments for the first time in decades, bringing a new life and new vitality to this already thriving and beautiful town.

Another masterpiece is the exquisite Edwardian Opera House, home of the internationally renowned Buxton Festival and host of other festivals, theatre, music and comedy shows throughout the year. Close by is the historic Old Hall Hotel, where ill-fated Mary Queen of Scots was held captive in the 16th Century. Just a short walk away can be found the mysterious Poole’s Cavern, known to be one of the best caverns for its wonderful tour and best showing stalactites and stalagmites in the whole of Derbyshire!

The beautifully landscaped and restored Pavilion Gardens, with its formal borders, lawns, play areas, lake, and family-friendly café and shop are just 3 mins walk from The Quadrant.
