Description
The Old Dairy is a wonderful barn conversion just down the lane from the square in the centre of the famous Peak District village of Hartington. It provides spacious and flexible holiday accommodation with a magnificent lounge, superb dining kitchen, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, underfloor heating throughout, a games room, lots of outdoor space and ample parking.
Hartington is set in glorious countryside with its village duck pond, great pubs, local stores and famous cheese shop. Scenic walks go off in every direction, down into lovely Dovedale, across to magnificent Manifold Dale or over the ‘tops’ on the Midshires Way.
Parsley Hay cycle hire on the nearby Tissington Trail, a trip to superb Chatsworth House or beautiful Haddon Hall or just a pie and a pint in a village pub are other enjoyable ways of spending an afternoon. If Hartington is the perfect Peak District location, then please remember that all Derbyshire’s other attractions – castles, caverns, cable cars, canals, steam trains, tram rides, wildlife sanctuaries, watersports, historic houses, craft centres and theme parks, including Alton Towers, - are all within a 20 minute drive.
Ground Floor:

Utility/Cloakroom: with washing machine, sink, WC and space to store coats and boots.
Bedroom 4: with double bed
En Suite: with shower cubicle, basin and WC.
First Floor:

En Suite: with half size bath with wall mounted hand shower attachment, basin and WC.
OUTSIDE:
There is a spacious outdoor area with garden furniture and portable barbecue, enclosed by fencing but not secure for pets.
Games Room: (in the garage) with table tennis and darts, together with a tumble dryer.
Ample private parking is available.
Smoking anywhere on the property is not permitted.
Access for people with mobility issues may be possible as there is a ground floor bedroom and en suite, and reception rooms all on one level, but door widths, space around fixed units and within the bedroom mean that it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Location
HARTINGTON
Hartington is an outstanding village at the northern end of Dovedale and is surrounded by some of the Peak District’s finest walking country. Venture south to romantic Beresford Dale and the famous ‘vanishing’ Manifold Dale or head north on quieter paths to Pilsbury Castle and Crowdecote.
An archetypal Peak District village, Hartington is centred around the village square and duckpond. Its past prosperity is evident in fine buildings such as St. Giles’ Church, the Market Hall and the Charles Cotton Hotel, so named after the co-author of the fisherman’s bible, ‘The Compleat Angler’.
Hartington was the traditional home of the famous Hartington Creamery, established by the Duke of Devonshire in the late 19th century. Hartington Blue, Dovedale Blue and other cheeses are still made in nearby Pikehall and excellent artisan cheeses can still be purchased in the popular Old Cheese Shop in the centre of the village. Within the village is also a delightful selection of gift shops, cafes and pubs.
The thermal spa town of Buxton is within easy reach with gardens, an opera house, stunning Georgian architecture and many independent retailers and high street brands.
Local Pubs: The Devonshire Arms, Hartington. The Charles Cotton, Hartington. The Staffordshire Knot, Sheen.
