Description

The pretty and distinctly Derbyshire village of Tideswell sits in the heart of the White Peak, an area known for its dramatic scenery; cut among limestone, it is in an area of outstanding beauty. The village itself dates back to the 14th century, and boasts great local pubs, two restaurants, cafes, fish and chip shops, sandwich shops, as well as a butcher, baker and greengrocer. It is surrounded by must-visit towns. There are excellent walking routes with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just 4 miles outside the village. Eyam, with its eery and fascinating history of being “The Plague Village” sits just 5 miles to the East of Tideswell. Chatsworth House, Mam Tor and Castleton are within 11 miles and the popular spa town of Buxton is an 8 mile trip.

The house has a modern and stylish interior, whilst still retaining features, decor and furnishings that complement the age and style of the property. Antiques blend with beautiful paint colours, quality furniture and soft furnishings and impressive artwork all work together to create a comfortable, unique and practical space to enjoy.

Reviews

A really delightful, clean, cosy and well equipped cottage in a great location.

Ms B,

Beautiful house in a great location, with shops & pubs close by.

Mr R,

Lovely

Mrs S,

Lovely, fully equipped and very comfortable propert in excellent location. Very high standard of decor and furnishing. A truly delightful property.

Mr B,

A beautiful cottage - we have had a great half term break. Thank you! Garden is a lovely place to drink coffee - even in February!

Past Customer,

An amazing home, and we had a fantastic Christmas there. Everything we needed was there, plus some extra - the additional roasting trays and decorations were a great touch. The house is in a great location for exploring the Peaks, and the village has very good amenities, too. The only qualm was that the shower was either roasting hot or cold, it was almost impossible to find a happy medium. Would definitely stay here again. Owner Response: Thank you for your feedback. There was an issue with the shower which has now been resolved.

Ms P,

The property is a real home from home. It was clean, comfortable, welcoming. Very well equipped. Lots of really nice touches - toys and books for children, games and DVDS, great selection of walk books and maps. A lovely enclosed garden with space to eat outside in good weather. Great location - the village has everything you might need. Some good pubs and places to eat.

Mrs M,

Recommendations: walking from the cottage to and through Tideswell Dale and then on to Angler's Rest on the Monsal Trail. Cutlery tour at David Meller in Hathersage. Swim at the Hathersage Lido. Walk on Stanedge Edge. Bike ride on the Monsal Trail. Dinner at the Merchant's Yard. Thank you for an incredible stay. What a stunning house with attention to every detail. This house oozes generosity and such a warm, cosy, tasteful, charming place to stay!

Past Customer,

We absolutely love this place. Everything was perfect. It has been a very varied week: Mam Tor, Neighbourhood walks, Bakewell, Buxton, Manchester/football match. Best dinner - The Swan in Kettleshulme (but all the local places were great too!). We would definitely like to come again. Thank you for the wine and mild. We felt like home - but away.

Past Customer,

A beautiful house, lovely furniture and furnishings, very well equipped. Central village location with walks right from the door. When I first walked into Handel House I immediately felt at home, it has a special atmosphere and I would recommend a stay here.

Mrs S,

Delightful holiday home, beautifully presented. Everything that you need. Great location in centre of village. Love the pictures of Derbyshire! Look forward to next visit.

Previous Customer,

What a wonderful holiday home, beautifully styled, with everything we needed to enjoy the break. This is a great location to go and explore the family friendly activities within the peaks. Thank you!

Family party,

Where do I start! We had an incredible week at Handle House. It is in the perfect location for a family break. A lovely village, the local pubs were very friendly and welcoming. The home itself has been decorated and furnished to such a high standard. There is nothing they have forgotten. We were able to relax and unwind. The host is amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay so special. Thank you so much
