Myself and my partner very much enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is in a lovely, quiet location with great views and places to walk nearby. Location

ASHOVER

Ashover is a typical picturesque Derbyshire village nestled in the beautiful Amber Valley and surrounded by trees.  Ashover has a long history dating back to the Saxons and “Men of Asher” fought alongside Henry V at the Battle of Agincourt.  Located just a stone’s throw from the edge of the Peak District all the area has to offer is on the doorstep.  Nearby Ogston Reservoir to the South East is a haven for birdwatchers, take a trip on a steam train in Matlock or take the little ones to see the animals at Matlock Farm Park.  Alternatively, there are many local walks to take in the scenery.

For such a small village, there are plenty of local facilities. A local butcher, The Stamp coffee shop and a choice of pubs serving real ales, traditional ciders and homemade food.

Local Pubs: The Old Poets’ Corner, Ashover, The Black Swan, Ashover, The Kelstedge Inn, Kelstedge
