Description
Springfield is an absolutely beautiful cottage that has been totally refurbished to create a fantastic interior. This is ultimate luxury with its beautiful decor and furnishings, lovely pictures and quality fixtures throughout its extensive accommodation. There is a superb lounge with sumptuous sofas gathered around a log burning stove, bespoke dining kitchen, sunny conservatory, three superb bedrooms, three bathrooms and even a games room with table tennis and darts.
Springfield is set in the peace and quiet of the Peak District countryside, in a little hamlet called Aldwark. which is surrounded by sheep speckled fields, a patchwork of dry-stone walls, lots of craggy outcrops and big sky horizons. Yet civilisation is just a short drive away with nearby Brassington village and its pubs or the little historic town of Wirksworth with its market square, restaurants, cafes, pubs, heritage railway and even the Northern Lights cinema.
You might fancy setting out across the Peaks along the nearby High Peak Trail. Carsington Water with its water sports, cycle hire, birdwatching, children’s playground and visitor centre might also beckon. If you have even wider horizons, there is Matlock Bath with its cable cars and riverside prom, the National Tramway Museum, magnificent Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall and the mellow market town of Bakewell famed for its Bakewell Puddings.
One dog is welcome at Springfield at no additional charge.

Location
GRANGE MILL
Grange Mill is a little hamlet gathered around the Holly Bush Inn, set at the crossroads on the Via Gellia road. It is an ideal base from which to explore all the Peak District. The road down the valley soon gets you to Sir Richard Arkwright’s Industrial Revolution village of Cromford. Turn the other way towards Newhaven and on to the main link between the lovely Georgian town of Ashbourne and grand Victorian Buxton.
Little historic Wirksworth is the nearest town, with all its lead mining heritage, where jumbles of cottages and a network of alleyways create an award-winning heritage trail. A lovely market square, small independent shops, the Northern Lights micro cinema, the Star Disk, the Ecclesbourne Valley heritage railway, nearby Carsington Water and Le Mistral restaurant complete the picture.
Matlock is nearly as close with Matlock Bath’s ‘Little Switzerland’ gorge and Peak Rail’s steam trains running up the valley into the Peak District. Following the railway up the valley will take you to famous Bakewell, magnificent Chatsworth House, lovely Haddon Hall and then into the real Peaks with its picturesque villages, lush green valleys, sparkling rivers and amazing gritstone edges.
Local pubs - The Holly Bush, the Bowling Green in Winster and the Miners Arms in Brassington
